Phone screen replacement cost in India, brand by brand

Only one big brand prints a screen price you can read at home; the rest make you ask, and two Apple chains quote different amounts for the same model. The verified numbers, and the sum to do before you pay for a phone with a cracked screen.

Phone screen replacement cost in India, brand by brand — GradeGuard guide

A cracked screen is the most expensive accident a phone can have. On some models the glass costs more than a whole working handset, so here is what a screen replacement costs in India today, brand by brand, and what that number should do to the price you pay for a used phone.

Two things shape everything below. Only one big brand prints a screen price you can read at home, and two Apple service chains charge very different amounts for the same model. Every figure was checked on 21 September 2026 on the page linked beside it.

Apple: an estimator, not a price list

Apple India publishes no screen price list. Its iPhone screen repair page runs a cost estimator instead, and the page says: “Estimated fees are for an out-of-warranty service from Apple and may be subject to tax,” and “Apple Authorised Service Providers can set their own service fees and will provide their own estimate.” So there is no single Apple price for India to quote.

The Apple service chains do print lists. Aptronix shows a charge for every model, taxes included.

iPhoneDisplay replacement
SE (2nd and 3rd gen)₹15,198
iPhone 11₹19,278
iPhone 12, 13, 14, 15₹28,123
iPhone 16₹29,462
iPhone 17₹42,066
iPhone 17 Pro Max₹48,906

The same page adds a ₹1,000 service charge on any repair that replaces a part, and says the listed prices are exchange prices — the old screen is not returned unless you ask for stock pricing.

Now the same phones at iPlanet, another Apple service chain: ₹23,000 for an iPhone 11 display and ₹33,500 for an iPhone 13, plus ₹2,000 service charges and ₹299 consumables. That is ₹3,722 more on the 11 and ₹5,377 more on the 13, for the same repair on the same model. This is exactly what Apple’s note means. Get the quote from the centre you will actually visit, in writing, before you agree to anything.

Samsung: the one brand that prints the number

Samsung India’s Screen Fix+ page lists screen prices you can read before you book. The page states the prices include GST, that any part other than the screen is charged separately, and that repaired parts carry a three-month functional warranty.

GalaxyScreen
S23 / S23 Ultra₹11,540 / ₹18,870
S24 / S24 Ultra₹11,070 / ₹20,000
S25 / S25 Ultra₹9,130 / ₹17,990
S23 FE / S24 FE / S25 FE₹7,260 / ₹6,640 / ₹7,700
Z Flip7 (main screen)₹33,100
Z Fold7 (main screen)₹62,270

Read the last row twice. The inner screen of a Fold7 is listed at ₹62,270, the outer at ₹8,640. Our refurbished Galaxy Z Fold7 sells for ₹139,999, so that one panel is worth close to half the phone. A folding phone with a mark or a dead spot on the inner screen is a bad buy at any discount.

For the A, M and F phones most people actually own, Samsung sends you to its spare part pricing tool, which you drive model by model. Read its conditions: prices are “exclusive of Labor & other consumable used in repair”, “GST will be charged extra as applicable”, the listed price is for the premium colour and the highest storage, and the exact cost is confirmed at the service centre after diagnosis.

Xiaomi, realme, OnePlus and Motorola: you have to ask

None of these four print a screen price the way Samsung does. What they do publish still matters, because it tells you what gets added to the part price.

  • Xiaomi runs a model-by-model lookup at mi.com spare part prices. Nothing is shown until you pick the exact model.
  • realme works the same way for the part, but publishes its labour separately: ₹350 on a mobile repair where a part is consumed, ₹150 where nothing is replaced, and ₹100 if the phone comes back unrepaired (realme India).
  • OnePlus has a repair pricing tool whose page states that prices are in Indian rupees with tax included, and that a labour service charge is added when the device is out of warranty (OnePlus India).
  • Motorola gives the figure at the service centre.

So ask four questions at the counter, and write the answers down: the part price, the labour, the tax, and whether the old screen comes back to you.

Service centre or the shop downstairs

A local shop is cheaper, and nobody publishes those rates, because the price depends entirely on which panel goes in. Three very different things get sold as “screen replacement”: an original panel, a reworked panel where old glass is cut off a used display and new glass is fitted, and a cheap aftermarket copy.

The gap shows up later, not on the bill. Copy panels tend to lose colour at an angle, run dimmer in sunlight, miss touches near the edges, and sometimes break the fingerprint reader under the glass. You also lose the written part warranty a service centre gives. Our guide on telling an original display from an aftermarket one has the physical checks.

How to tell if a used phone’s screen was already changed

On an iPhone 12 or later, open Settings > General > About and look for Parts and Service History. Apple’s support page explains the labels: “Genuine Apple Part” means the repair used genuine parts, while “Unknown Part” appears when the part is not genuine or is not working as expected. Apple also says plainly that an Unknown part “might affect the trade-in value of your device”. If a seller wants a clean-phone price, that line is your discount.

Android phones mostly keep no such record, so the checks are physical: a gap or glue line where the screen meets the frame, colour that shifts as you tilt the phone, weak brightness outdoors, touch that misses near the edges. While the phone is in your hand, note the IMEI and run the free government check on it — walkthrough here: CEIR IMEI check.

What a cracked screen should knock off the price

Do the arithmetic before you talk price. The real cost of a damaged phone is the asking price plus the screen quote for that exact model, from the centre you would actually use. If that total is not clearly below a clean unit of the same phone that comes with a warranty, walk away.

That sum kills most “small crack, big discount” deals. A ₹2,000 cut on a Galaxy S24 Ultra whose screen is listed at ₹20,000 is not a discount; it just moves your money to a service centre later. A phone sold as “screen already replaced” with no paperwork gets the same treatment: ask for the bill, check the parts history on an iPhone, and if neither exists, price it as a copy panel.

One habit is worth keeping for the day you sell. A phone whose screen was replaced with a genuine part, bill in hand, is worth more than an identical phone with an unknown panel.

How this works at GradeGuard

Every phone goes through a 41-point bench check before it is listed, and the grade on the product page describes how the phone looks — the scale is set out at condition grading, and the words sellers use are explained in refurbished, renewed or open box. Each order carries a six-month warranty and a seven-day replacement window, delivery is free to every pin code in India, and payment is cash on delivery only: no advance, no COD fee. The IMEI is printed on your invoice so you can run the CEIR check yourself.

If these numbers have made you wary of buying a cracked phone to fix, that is the right lesson. Browse refurbished mobiles and weigh a whole working phone against the repair bill you were about to take on.

Common questions

How much does a phone screen replacement cost in India?

There is no single answer, because most brands quote model by model. The published numbers checked on 21 September 2026 run from ₹6,640 for a Galaxy S24 FE screen to ₹62,270 for the inner screen of a Galaxy Z Fold7 on Samsung India's Screen Fix+ page, and from ₹15,198 to ₹48,906 across iPhone models on the Aptronix charge list. Always get the figure for your exact model in writing.

Why do two service centres quote different prices for the same phone?

Apple's own repair page says Apple Authorised Service Providers can set their own service fees and will give their own estimate. It shows up in the lists: an iPhone 13 display is ₹28,123 at Aptronix and ₹33,500 at iPlanet, before each chain's separate service charge. Ask two centres before you commit.

Is a local shop screen as good as a service centre one?

It depends entirely on the panel fitted, and local rates are not published anywhere. Three different things get sold as a screen replacement: an original panel, a reworked panel with new glass on an old display, and a cheap copy. Copy panels usually show weaker brightness, colour shift at an angle and poor touch near the edges, and they come with no written part warranty.

How do I know if a used phone's screen was already replaced?

On an iPhone 12 or later, open Settings, then General, then About, and read Parts and Service History. Apple's support page says the label reads Genuine Apple Part after a genuine repair, and Unknown Part when the part is not genuine or is not working as expected. Most Android phones keep no such record, so check the frame gap, colour at an angle, brightness and edge touch by hand.

Should I buy a phone with a cracked screen because it is cheap?

Only after the arithmetic. Add the asking price and the screen quote for that exact model from the centre you would actually use. If the total is not clearly below a clean unit of the same phone with a warranty, the discount is not real. A ₹2,000 cut on a phone with a ₹20,000 screen is not a discount.

Does a replaced screen affect what a phone is worth?

Yes. Apple states that an Unknown part might affect the trade-in value of the device, and any buyer who cannot tell what is inside will pay less. A screen replaced with a genuine part, with the service centre bill kept, holds more value than the same phone with an unknown panel.
