Condition Grading Explained
Adjectives are useless when you are buying a used phone online. Every grade below is defined by something you can measure, and we state the flaws on the individual unit as well.
The four grades
| Grade | Cosmetic condition |
|---|---|
| S — Superb | No marks visible at 30cm in indoor light. Screen passes the fingernail test. |
| A — Excellent | Micro-marks on frame or back, visible only under direct light within 15cm. Screen scratch-free. |
| B — Good | Light scratches visible at 30cm. At most two hairline screen scratches, invisible when the display is on. |
| C — Value | Obvious scratches and scuffs, up to three small dents. No cracks, no dead pixels, no burn-in. |
What we always disclose
- Display: original manufacturer panel, OEM-grade replacement (with the month it was fitted), or aftermarket.
Non-genuine parts on an iPhone trigger Apple’s “Unknown Part” notice in Settings. If a unit has one, it says so on the product page before you buy.
What we never sell
- Cracked glass, front or back
- Screen burn-in visible on a white background
- Non-functional Face ID or fingerprint sensor
- A triggered water-damage indicator
- iCloud or Google FRP locked devices
- A bent frame
If a unit fails any of these at intake, it does not get listed. It goes to a registered recycler or is sold for parts, clearly marked as such.
